23 things I learned because of Medium

And I am so glad I did.

Why 23? Because I couldn’t think of more. Also, I am sure you are well aware of most of the points. So I am going to keep it very short, like a to-do list, so you and I can take a look at it whenever we feel the need to. A little reminder is always helpful when you need it, isn’t it?

So, here we go.

1. EVERY WRITER STRUGGLES.

2. Fear isn’t real.

3. Consistency and patience is the key to your success.

4. Make lots of mistakes. Then forgive yourself and take the lesson you learned with you.

5. Trust the timing of ‘your’ life.

6. Your belief will eventually take you where you wish to be. You just need to keep believing.

7. It’s okay to sometimes disappoint people (even your parents).

8. Every person feels stuck and lost at some point in his/her life.

9. You will never feel ready. So make that damn jump.

10. The PROCESS is much more important than the destination. Learn to love the process.

11. You don’t need to follow every other advice because most people are never going to understand your vision.

12. Learn from criticism.

13. Too often we ignore ‘the signs’ the universe tries to give us. Instincts are to guide us, so follow it. Even if the path isn’t very clear ahead.

14. YOUR GOALS AND DREAMS CAN CHANGE. Allow yourself to find new goals and new dreams.

15. You will never fully become that imaginary ‘you’ you have created in your head. Just try to get as close to that image as possible. That’s a win within itself.

16. Deep down you already know what you want.

17. There is no right person, wrong timing.

18. You always have a choice to change your situation. You just have to have that 20 seconds of insane courage.

19. Allow yourself to get into an uncomfortable phase in your life. It’ll help you grow in many ways.

20. You don’t always have to be productive.

21. Not knowing the next step is okay. Leave from your current situation anyway if you aren’t gaining anything out of it.

22. It’s not the ‘one big break’ that counts. It’s the fifty breaks….

23. Life is pretty long. We are just spending most of our time doing things that don’t matter to us more than the things that do.

Lessons you learn at the exact time you needed to, are the lessons you take along with you for years to come.

Above points have been summarized from my highlights and have highly changed my perspective over the past one year. I could call a day ‘productive’ even if I learned ONE thing on Medium each day!!
